Exterior Column Installation

Replacing your Rotted Wood Columns can be tricky and comes with a whole host of issues that require experience to overcome. Our team of Carpenters have seen it all over the years and take all precautions when replacing your porch pillars.

The Column Replacement begins by supporting your porch roof while carefully ensuring that we do not damage the existing Aluminum or Vinyl Soffit on your porch ceiling. The Porch Columns are then removed and the area cleaned of old caulking, adhesives, concrete and other materials that may have been used to cover the rot over the years. 

The new Fiberglass or PVC Columns are then cut to size once the opening size has been determined. We always make sure to bring out oversized columns and cut everything on site, it's the only way to ensure that the installation has been completed properly. Once the column has been fastened in place, we install the Capital and Base ensuring that each is fastened and sealed properly depending on the materials on the ceiling or beam above and the concrete, stone or brick below. 

Once again, PAINTING is the customers responsibility, however, the columns can be painted once the caulking has dried, they are left ready to paint once we leave. We do offer painting services at an additional cost. 

  Before we leave, we ensure that the area has been cleaned up, swept and decor has been put back where it was found. The garbage generated by the installation is bagged, the old columns are cut into small manageable pieces and everything is left for disposal by the customer. The city garbage will pick up the old columns when left on the curb.
