Panelled Fibreglass Columns

Our Recessed Panel FIberglass Columns are manufactured the same as the Square Columns using a Pultrusion Method. Due to the shape of these columns (additional corners) these Porch Posts have a higher load bearing capacity than the square porch columns. The Recessed Square columns are structural and do not require wood or steel supports to be pre installed as they have a minimum 8,000 lb Load Bearing Capacity. 

In order to create the panels, we use PVC inserts that are placed in the molded face of the columns. The lower and upper inserts are required however you can choose not to have the middle insert installed. You can also choose to have the insert placed higher up on the column depending on what you feel looks good. When railings need to be reinstalled, we will place the insert at the same height of the handrail so that we can secure the railings to the column on a flat surface. These porch  columns lend themselves well to situations where railings are present, they are molded with a thicker middle portion that allows for the screws to fasten securely.  

Our Fibreglass columns are installed unfinished in an off white colour and require a coat of paint once we have completed the installation. We recommend you paint within four months of installation. We do not offer painting services, this is your responsibility.

Standard sizes range from 8" x 6 foot upto 10" x 12 foot, any larger sizes would have to be special ordered or we can find a PVC Column Wrap substitute. Two different capital/ base styles are offered, Flat Box and the Tuscan, dimensions are listed below.
