Square PVC Column Wrap Experts servicing Toronto & GTA

It's common to run into situations in the Toronto GTA where a homeowner has already installed a structural wood support or a steel support is already in place. This is particularly prevalent in custom-built homes and new backyard structures where the architect has specified that the roof requires a support. In these situations, we opt not to cut out the supports; instead, we perform column wrap installation by wrapping the support with a custom PVC wrap. The type of PVC used to create these wraps is Slow Rise Cellular PVC, which is a vinyl plastic that offers all the benefits and appearance of wood without the long-term negatives associated with it. The PVC can be cut, nailed, screwed, and painted just like wood. 

While our PVC column wraps are equal in price to our fiberglass options, they are only utilized when absolutely necessary. Some of our options are designed to replicate our square fiberglass columns. PVC lends itself well to situations requiring more customization, as our carpenters can create many looks and customize capitals on-site if required. Wraps are available only in square shapes, but tapered (Craftsman/Shaker style) columns are also available in PVC. It's important to note that PVC column wraps always require a support; if you don’t have one in place, we can install pressure-treated lumber for you. We recommend using brand new wood when installing wraps, and we offer 4x4 or 6x6 lumber for this purpose. 

After installation, the PVC will require a coat of paint. It arrives in pure white, but due to the work required for assembly, applying a coat of paint will yield the best results.
