Columns Replaced in a Day
Our Round Fiberglass Porch Columns are Structural and are available in a variety of heights and diameters. Fiberglass Columns do not require a support to be installed as they are structural on their own and have a minimum load bearing capacity of 8,000 lbs. Standard column sizes range from 8" x 6 foot - 10" x 10 foot, all larger heights and diameter would have to be ordered in and may take a few weeks.
Round Fibreglass Columns are available in both Tapered and Non Tapered varieties.
- Tapered means that they are wider at the bottom and narrower at the top.
- Non Tapered are the same diameter from top to bottom.
Tapered Fibreglass Columns are manufactured to look like their wood counterparts but there are some differences when it comes to the capital/ base and the neck (Astragal). If only one of your columns require replacing, we recommend you change out all of your columns due to the differences in appearance, it's close, but it's noticeable.
Tapered Fluted Columns (Vertical Lines) are also available in fibreglass. Fluted columns are slightly more expensive and heavier than our standard columns, this is due to the additional thickness required to allow for the fluting. The installation process is similar to the smooth columns however we need to ensure that the flutes do not get cut off at the bottom. Fluted Columns are not ideal for situations where railings are present as there is not enough material between the flutes to allow for railings to be attached securely. Our columns arrive oversized (Height) and are cut down as required once our installers have confirmed the exact height of your porch. All of our columns are unfinished, arrive in an off white colour and will require a COAT OF PAINT after installation. We recommend you paint the columns within four months of installation.

Load Rating
Load bearing capacity of our Fibreglass Columns per column diameter as tested by the manufacturer. The Concentric Load is the accepted load bearing capacity of the column.

These dimensions are provided for homeowners looking to wrap a steel or wood support. Most important is the TOP I.D dimension, as the columns taper, they get narrower, this would be your MAX allowed support width.
