Rotted Wood Columns?

Many homeowners send us pictures of their rotted wood columns in various states of decay. Some have used short term fixes by filling the holes with auto body filler or spray foam but this does not FIX Rotting Wood in Columns, it only delays the inevitable. More often than not this requires a full Column Replacement. 

Column Guru supplies and installs Fiberglass Columns and PVC Wraps to permanently FIX this issue. Fibreglass columns are structurally load bearing and come with a manufacturer lifetime warranty, they will not rot, deteriorate or soak up water over time. Once installed they offer a permanent solution to your column issues. PVC Column Wraps, however, are strictly decorative and require a wood or steel support to be installed. Customers often ask if its possible to ONLY replace the base of the columns, the simple answer to this is unfortunately NO. The reason for this is that in order to properly replace a wood base, the entire column needs to be removed and re installed, at that point, it makes more sense to pay a bit more and install a new Fiberglass Column. Chances are that if the Base is already rotted, the wood column shaft is also rotted and will need replacement sooner rather than later. 

We will remove your existing column entirely and replace it with a maintenance free Fiberglass Column which is available in various sizes and shapes. If necessary, we will use concrete to Back Fill the hole left by your existing columns.
