Fluted Round Fibreglass Columns

Fluted round columns have enhanced the beauty of castles, courthouses, churches, and many other grand entrances for centuries. Now, these elegant fiberglass columns are also available to elevate the aesthetics of your home.  

These fiberglass columns provide the same structural strength as their smooth counterparts, but they are designed to be heavier and thicker, allowing for the distinctive flutes to be cut into the outer shell. Fluted columns come in a variety of heights and diameters, but it's important to keep the fluting in mind, as the length of the fluting cannot be altered or customized. This is crucial because fluted columns are only available in whole lengths (8, 9, 10, and 12-foot lengths), and only a couple of inches can be trimmed off without disrupting the flutes.  

While fluted round columns are structurally sound and thick, they do not accommodate railings very well. The narrow flutes make it difficult for railing screws to be securely fastened. Therefore, we recommend using newel posts to finish the railings on each side of a fluted column, ensuring a polished look for your porch column installation.
