This architectural style particularly accommodates wider pedestals made of either brick or stone. Typically, the pedestal and porch need to be purpose-built for the installation of these tapered square columns, as most standard porches cannot support the larger bases of Craftsman style columns.

Our custom PVC wraps are crafted from durable PVC sheets. While PVC is primarily decorative, it excels in resisting water, sun, and extreme weather damage. It shares many advantages with wood, such as the ability to be cut, screwed, nailed, glued, and shaped like wood, all while avoiding its typical drawbacks. For proper PVC column installation, a wood support is necessary to ensure structural integrity and to secure the column during the installation process.

You can select from various standard taper widths for your custom PVC wraps. This sizing is crucial, as not all dimensions will suit your pedestal or the beam above. We can customize the PVC column wrap widths to perfectly fit your porch and pedestals.

Once installation is complete, painting will be needed. We do our best to prevent damage to the PVC during handling and installation; however, caulking will be necessary at the seams between the column, capital, and bases. With this in mind, painting is essential to cover the caulking and seams on the corners, serving as the final defense against water infiltration that could damage your supports underneath.
