PVC Craftsman Columns

Craftsman Columns have been popular since the early part of the 1900's. They are an classic design that still appeals to modern architecture with many homeowners opting to custom build Craftsman Style Homes. This style lends itself well to wider pedestals made of either Brick or Stone. Typically the Pedestal and porch have to be purpose built with the installation of these Tapered Square Columns in mind as most standard porches cannot accommodate these wider based columns.

Our Craftsman Column Wraps are made using PVC which is a Vinyl Plastic Product. PVC is strictly decorative, however, it is very durable and stands up very well to water, sun and extreme weather damage. PVC has all the benefits of wood and can be cut, screwed, nailed, glued and shaped like wood with out all the drawbacks. The PVC Column Wrap will require a wood support both to make it structural and to secure the column during installation. 

You can choose from various Standard Taper Widths, this is important as not all sizes will fit your Pedestal or the Beam above, we can customize the PVC Column Wrap widths to fit your porch and pedestals. 

Painting will be required after the installation is complete. We do out best to ensure that the PVC is not damaged during handling/ installation, however, we need to use caulking on the seams between the column and the Capital / Bases. With this in mind, painting is required to cover the caulking and seams on the corners, it is the final defence against water seeping in over time and damaging your supports underneath.
